CAT Driver Training started trading in January 2005 and it embodies the vision of our chief instructor, Colin Hoad. Colin is one of the most highly qualified instructors in the UK in terms of his motor industry credentials and experience. Being referred to as the leading authority on vehicle dynamics in the country, his knowedge has been recognised by Evo Magazine, sitting on the panel of 4 Experts, with his specific remit being to answer questions from readers on driving technique.
Based in Cranfield in Bedfordshire, UK, our objective is to be the leading centre of excellence for driver development. Our clients range from beginner drivers to race professionals, and many come from overseas to train with us because they value the diversity and expertise of training on offer.
Each year we invest in growing the CAT fleet of cars to make sure that the level of service and experience that our clients receive is the best.
In 2005 our first track vehicle, the Subaru Impreza (4WD), joined the fleet. In 2007 we purchased the Caterham 7, to deliver the Drifting & Over Grip Limit Handling Course. To make your experience even more enjoyable we added a hospitality suite in 2008 and our clients now enjoy top-notch on-circuit facilities - essential when you're entertaining your own clients at one of our corporate days.
2009 saw the addition of a van and trailer to help in the development of our training services at track days. We also purchased our second Caterham 7 for track and race training and to facilitate client participation in actual race events. 2011 has seen the BMW & Porsche Boxster join the fleet in our continuing development.
