If you get a chance to do this day grab it with both hands. The patient teaching method even helped this stupid student properly understand techniques which I'd previously been shown but not fully grasped"- Rob Evans
Absolutely brilliant day - have gained a load of confidence in both my car and my own ability. The exercises and tuition were absolutely superb (as expected!), giving a great handle on the car's brakes and grip limits, as well as tons of handy hints that I've stored away for future use. Looking forward to putting it to good use round the 'Ring next month! I'll definitely be back next year"- Suzy Wallace
Yes I must say, another fantastic day, there is a fair bit of hanging around, but when you are out you are getting great one on one training at, surely, the best venue in the country!"- Alan Pomroy
I can honestly say that before this day everything I thought I knew about driving was pretty much rubbish. Nick was my instructor and the things he showed me are absolutely awesome."- Andy Horrigan
You all taught me so much, and you were all full of so much knowledge and information."- Stacey Wells
Excellent day, well worth travelling. Thanks to all staff."- Derek Orr
My second time with Colin, Jo and the crew. So many driving techniques and tips to learn and put into practice. Very professional setup and a free GTR specialist to check the cars over.- Paul Kemshall
So many highlights: Had the back end out RRR on the handling track; Severe shinkter twitching on the banked bowl (won't mention the speed but it was fast...); Steering on / off the throttle at the limit of adhesion; Hard braking with controlled turning; Abrubt lane changing.
Now have a really good feel for the car at or over the limit of normal roadholding in the dry. 1.15 G braking and turning was very achievable.
Will be back for the one to one training day next year. If anyone has not done this great day out with top notch training from the CAT team with world class facilities - JUST DO IT!!!!! Cheers!

I arrived at Millbrook for the interview day with CATDT, not really knowing what I was expecting or what was expected from me!! I must say the day was extremely good, and I gained some tips for improving my driving and such went away happy, but not really knowing how I had done. It was the Saturday evening after the day at Millbrook, I was sitting down at home and my phone rang ... It was Colin from CATDT. I was expecting him to say thanks for coming, but sorry you were not successful ... He proceeded to say I had won the sponsorship which left me shocked to say the least!! I proceeded to my first days training with Colin at Millbrook ... I honestly didn’t know what to expect not having done anything like this before, so I went along with an open mind ready to accept the information that Colin would give me. Having completed the first training session I have realised where my driving technique was letting me down, and costing me valuable time on track. The day went smooth, with no pressure, which helps if you have not done anything like this before. I have gained the information from Colin to control the car's stability whilst turning and braking, which was where I thought I was lacking and to identify the cars grip limits which are vital. It’s down to me now to put it into practise! I can highly recommend CATDT to anyone looking to improve on their driving ability/technique! This leaves me with my own expectations for the first round of the MLRSS at Silverstone this weekend ... I am aiming to put into practise the knowledge I have gained from Colin, and trying to keep consistent with my times. Mark a.k.a. markmec78 |
