We think it's great - but we would say that wouldn't we! Hopefully you'll agree. Any comments you have, good or bad, please let Jo know. What a great event. Give a competitive driver a race car and he or she will invariably want to adjust its dynamic characteristics to suit their driving style. On this occasion that option was not on the table. The JR Motorsport Evo X became a benchmark for the day - no adjustments - just get in and do your best.

Chell asked me to interview each driver after their first run. A great opportunity to gauge reaction and gain feedback from drivers on the challenges of extracting a quick lap from a damp and cold circuit. Each driver approached the task professionally, chasing braking points and building speed over each run. The comments mirrored performance.

Millbrook training days promote safe driving techniques for road and circuit. This year CAT travelled north of the border for an MLR training day at the Ingliston Showground. The training took place the day before the Ingliston round of the Sprint series. Many of the questions on the day regarding technique were track focused and included questions on skid recovery. This article reflects on one of the days questions.

In the last edition CAT’s Driving Clinic focused on observation - maintaining a long focal point when driving on circuit or the public highway is essential. We finished the article discussing the importance of “looking where you want to go” when recovering from an oversteer/understeer scenario. Let’s now polarise our thoughts on the subtle adjustment needed to the gas pedal to recover the situation.

Have you driven the “Ring” in November? I’ve recently returned from a wet and wintery 4 day visit, honing my grip limit driving and enjoying the empty circuit. Tip toeing through high speed corners and ever changing gradients, the multitude of changing road surfaces adding a degree of driving complexity no other circuit can match. But what happens if your Nissan/Evo/Subaru gets out of shape? Are you comfortable correcting understeer or oversteer?
