Colin Hoad, the Director of CAT Driver Training, has spent over 25 years in the specialist motor industry. Motor racing at the age of 18 he enjoyed a rewarding career in motorsport preparation and management. He then moved into the vehicle evaluation and driver training industry with a major Japanese motor manufacturer. Teaching industry standard advanced driving techniques both on the road and Proving Ground Colin has enjoyed working throughout the UK and extensively in Europe. The Lausitz Ring race and test track in Eastern Germany as well as the Infamous Nurburgring (Nordschleife) are particular favourites. All of our instructors are hand picked and trained to deliver CATs unique brand of training - we do not pick from a large pool of instructors. The quality and consistency of our delivery combined with the consistent high scores from your feedback could not be achieved if we did. Each instructor brings specialist skills and qualifications to match the services we provide. As importantly they are warm, engaging personalities dedicated to your driving development. The entry level requirement to be a CAT instructor is to be DSA approved Driving Instructors and hold a Fleet accreditation. Why do we insist on a Fleet qualification? This ensures the quality of our training. The DSA regularly check test Fleet training licence holders. In effect we are licensed by the DSA to deliver advanced road driver training. From these solid foundations each instructor brings their own specialist credentials. Ensuring each and every course from a fleet training session to “limit handling” on circuit is delivered to your needs and objectives.
