It's run by a top team of people and we thoroughly recommend them."
What amazed me more than anything else was not how well the car gripped, or how well it broke etc., it was how little I knew about driving! I’ve been driving performance cars for 10 odd years now and onto my 4th Evo so naturally I presumed I could throw a car around - not the case at all! The knowledge that the instructors had was immense!"- Manjit Bhassin
How much improvement could be had in one day."- Paul Bennett
Colin has an amazing talent and feel for driving and mechanical knowhow, but more importantly, he has an equally amazing egoless ability to convey and teach those skills to others. No matter what the skill level one is at, Colin can coach and facilitate the achievement of greater results. The entire experience, from start to finish is top class and tailored to the individual. I’ve yet to encounter better in any area."- David Alstadter
A day of one-to-one tuition certainly isn't cheap but for me it was well worth it."- Andrew Drinkall
The level of thought given by Colin and his team to the mechanics of driving is extraordinary. Simple stuff that genuinely changes the way you view each part of driving a car and how you can better predict a car's behaviour."- Andrew Healy
Good example of teaching to follow myself."Gary Keenan
Colin and his colleagues seem to quickly ascertain what level of ability you have. They apply the right amount on demand on your driving according to ability. He quickly had me pushing on my own levels of ability and gave me confidence to drive faster, but all the time I felt totally confident in what he was asking me to do."- Grant Wassell

My interest in cars goes back to my early childhood. A keen reader of the Motoring News at the age of 8 I have followed motor racing and the development of the motor car since I can remember. Jackie Stewart and Niki Lauda were my school boy heroes - football and cricket did not stir the blood in the same way as a glimmer of a racing car in a magazine, or the sighting of a Porsche on the road. Funded by the Rolls Royce Apprentice Association, I began motor racing at the age of 18. The seeds of motorsport had been sown. My engineering apprenticeship completed with Rolls Royce, I left the engineering excellence of the jet engine manufacturer to work for a small Porsche specialists in Amersham, Bucks. Although a small concern I felt at home working with a group of true enthusiasts who shared my interests and passions. My career in the sports car world had begun. So it is with the benefit of 31 years in the world of engineering and motorsport that I created CAT Driver Training.
At the start of every training activity or corporate day, I find myself sitting in the training vehicle ready to share my passion, pride and dedication to the learning experience with every person I meet. I look forward to training with you. Colin Hoad: Chief Instructor - Qualifications |
